Citizenship Preparation Classes

Classes to prepare legal permanent residents who reside in Maryland for the U.S. Naturalization exam. Learn the ESL skills (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) and U.S. civics/history needed to pass the test. Classes are free but a small materials fee may be charged by the provider.

Teen Writers\' Club

Join the Teen Writers’ Club! Meetings typically include discussions of writing techniques of all genres, but time primarily is devoted to critiques of members\' own work. Writing prompts provide a chance to test out different writing techniques. Guest writers occasionally provide insight into the art of writing, editing or publishing, and information is shared on local contests and writing opportunities. A teen anthology provides an opportunity for young authors to see their work published. The Teen Writers’ Club in Germantown is an official project of the Maryland Writers’ Association.

Toddler Storytime for ages 24-35 months - Get up and get moving at storytime! These 20-30 minute programs are full of a diverse collection of books, songs and fun activities. They are designed to introduce your child to the culture of reading and help develop your child’s language skills. Children are encouraged to engage with the stories and activities, and their grownups to participate in the program along with the children.
