Vet Center Registration & Referral Services

Intake and referral services for Veterans and active duty Service members, including members of the National Guard and Reserve components.

Services provided include:
- Individual and group counseling for Veterans, Service members, and their families
- Family counseling for military related issues
- Bereavement counseling for families who experience an active duty death
- Military sexual trauma counseling and referral
- Outreach and education including PDHRA, community events, etc.
- Substance abuse assessment and referral
- Employment assessment & referral
- VBA benefits explanation and referral
- Screening & referral for medical issues including TBI, depression, etc.

Vet Center services are also provided to family members of Veterans and Service members for military related issues when it is found aid in the readjustment of those that have served.
This includes bereavement counseling for families who experience an active duty death.

Baby Storytime for babies up to 11 months. A storytime experience for our youngest library users and their caregivers. These 20-30 minute storytimes introduce a diverse collection of books, songs, rhymes and bounces developmentally appropriate for children from birth to when they start walking. This is a wonderful way to introduce your child to the joys and culture of reading in a positive and fun atmosphere. This story time is designed so the baby will be in their caregiver’s lap and the grownup is actively involved in the program.

Poolesville High School students with a group called A Seat at Our Table will offer tutoring services to students in kindergarten through sixth grades for two hours after school on Mondays and Thursdays. The tutors will meet with students in the Group Study Room in the back of the children\'s area.

ESL Class: Registration and Testing

The Literacy Council English as a Second Language (ESL) Classroom Program is unable to provide services to F-1 and J-1 visa holders.

• Please arrive on time. Students are admitted on a first come, first serve basis.
• Registration and testing is 3 hours and you must stay for the entire time.
• If you arrive after testing has started, you will not be admitted.
• Space is limited. Students will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis.
• You must be 18 years of age or older and live or work in Maryland.
• You can only register for one class per session.
• You will take a reading and listening test. Testing does not guarantee a class.
• Children are not allowed at testing or in class.
