Teen Writers\' Club

Join the Teen Writers’ Club! Meetings typically include discussions of writing techniques of all genres, but time primarily is devoted to critiques of members\' own work. Writing prompts provide a chance to test out different writing techniques. Guest writers occasionally provide insight into the art of writing, editing or publishing, and information is shared on local contests and writing opportunities. A teen anthology provides an opportunity for young authors to see their work published. The Teen Writers’ Club in Germantown is an official project of the Maryland Writers’ Association.

Cancer is the second leading cause of death in America and African Americans have the highest death rates for all cancers combined: breast, colon and rectum, lung and prostate. The presenter will provide cancer education to help reduce risk of cancer. Health assessments will be available.

This two part series will cover the following topics:

January 23: Cancer Overview & Prevention
January 30: Prostate, Breast & Lung Cancer
