Consumer Reports Online Database Workshop

Learn to get the most out of your library card by exploring the library\'s electronic consumer information resources. This workshop will cover topics such as using the computer to find Consumer Reports articles, reading customer reviews of local services using Washington Consumer Checkbook online, and more.

This program is free and open to all and is presented as a collaboration between the Connie Morella Library and Bethesda Metro Area Village.

Get up and get moving at storytime! These programs are full of a diverse collection of books, songs and fun activities. They are designed to introduce your child to the culture of reading and help develop your child’s language skills. Children are encouraged to engage with the stories and activities, and their grownups to participate in the program along with the children.

For children ages 2 - 5. Free tickets will be available 30 minutes before the program; space is limited.

Baby Storytime

A storytime experience for our youngest library users and their caregivers. These 20-30 minute storytimes introduce a diverse collection of books, songs, rhymes and bounces developmentally appropriate for children from birth to when they start walking. This is a wonderful way to introduce your child to the joys and culture of reading in a positive and fun atmosphere. This storytime is designed so the baby will be in their caregiver’s lap and the grownup is actively involved in the program.

Free tickets will be available 30 minutes before the program; space is limited.

Foreboding dystopian futures, gun violence in an American high school, apes’ encounters with early humans, and the pervasive and increasingly negative effect of social media: the books by young adult authors Scott Westerfeld, Kody Keplinger, Eliot Schrefer, and Sarah Littman truly run the gamut. Join these authors as part of Scholastic’s I Read YA Tour, as they discuss their respective new novels and delve into their unique writing processes.

Copies of their books will be available for purchase and signing at this event from Politics and Prose*, with a percentage of the proceeds benefiting the Friends of the Library, Connie Morella Chapter.
