Residents of the Mexican community of Sedona have built a traditional DAY OF THE DEAD ALTAR (Altar de Dia de los Muertos) by the fireplace at Sedona Public Library.

The ALTAR is the sacred place where the living honor the dead. The Altar is decorated with flowers (yellow and purple), special offerings including foods, liquor and other items that were favorites of our departed loved ones. The Day of the Celebration is November 2nd, and on this day we try to forget the abyss that separates life from death.
