AIDS hit San Diego hard as it did so many across the country. The LGBT community responded by banding together, forming new organizations to deal with tragedy, including Walks for Life (later AIDS Walk), Auntie Helen's and the Blood Sisters. San Diego faced unique challenges with trying to support their sick and dying colleagues just south of the border. Presented by Terry Cunningham, retired Chief of the STD, HIV and Hepatitis Branch of Public Health Services at the County of San Diego
