*Storytelling Institute: Bringing Life to Your Story

Event Type: Arts & Culture
Age Group(s): Adult
Date: 11/5/2018
Start Time: 5:00 PM
End Time: 6:30 PM
Description:
Participants will experience a story being told and sung. The students will then briefly analyze elements of what makes a story come alive and the effect oral story telling has on a community and audience. The class then moves on to explore enlivening their own oral stories, through engaging, inter-active exercises and storytelling games. We will emphasize character and climactic plot structure. Students will have an opportunity to tell and for direct feedback on their story performance in a safe and supportive environment. Participants are encouraged to work with stories or excerpts of stories they have brought OR may choose from those provided in class. Attendance is limited to 20 persons and registration is strongly suggested. Contact the library staff for details.
