Date: 10/29/2018
Start Time: 5:00 PM
End Time: 6:30 PM
Traditional tales from cultures around the world are anchored with a structure and content that can enhance the meaning and context of personal stories. Students will examine the traditional story structures of the “Hero’s Journey,” and “The Mountain” and how either may be incorporated in their personal story. Listening to examples of personal stories infused with traditional tales, students will observe techniques for enlivening their stories. Using the print resources of “Wisdom Tales from Around the World,” by Heather Forest and “Peace Tales; World Folktales to Talk About,” by Margaret Read McDonald students will select a tale to weave into their personal story. Attendance is limited to 20 persons and registration is strongly suggested. Contact the library staff for details.
