Jim Craft, a historian and member of the Oakland County Historical Commission, will connect Michigan history to New York. These settlers brought with them their religious beliefs which helped shape Michigan. Religious revival in New York spurred these Michigan settlers to found religious schools such as Albion, Kellogg's of Battle Creek and schools for the deaf.
