In 1925 Ossian Sweet, an African American physician, attempted to move into an all white neighborhood. People gathered outside his house and a man in the crowd was shot and killed. Dr.Sweet was put on trial for his murder and would face Detroit justice. Professor Dennis Fiems will discuss this gripping and true moment in Detroit history.
