Sensory Storytime

Introducing a new sensory-friendly storytime geared towards children who prefer smaller groups due to sensory issues, including those on the Autism spectrum, with ADHD, or who are differently abled. Storytime will be followed by social playtime. We hope you\'ll join us to celebrate music, movement, and books! Siblings are welcome. Video-Production Classes for Teens-Gandhi Brigade

In this 12-week program, high school students will learn the fundamentals of video production and work together to create short films about topics of their choosing. The class is facilitated by Gandhi Brigade Youth Media, an award-winning after-school program that empowers young people in Montgomery County to use multimedia tools to promote community building, multicultural understanding and the common good. Vietnamese Citizenship Class

A free citizenship preparation class program that helps prepare applicants for the required U.S. Civics and History exam given during their naturalization interviews. The class will be taught in English and Vietnamese and led by the Association of Vietnamese Americans (AVA). Open to the public.

Get up and get moving at storytime! These 30 minute programs are full of a diverse collection of books, songs and fun activities. They are designed to introduce your child to the culture of reading and help develop your child\'s language skills. Children are encouraged to engage with the stories and activities, and their grownups to participate in the program along with the children. LOCATED ON LOWER LEVEL.
NOTE: Baby Storytime happening at the same time across from Children\'s Room on main level.

Baby Storytime (Birth - 18 months)

NEW! A storytime experience for our youngest library users and their caregivers. These 20-30 minute storytimes introduce a diverse collection of books, songs, rhymes, and bounces developmentally appropriate for children from birth to when they start walking. This is a wonderful way to introduce your child to the joys and culture of reading in a positive and fun atmosphere. This storytime is designed so the baby will be in their caregiver\'s lap and the grownup is actively involved in the program. LOCATED in SMALL PROGRAM ROOM across the hall from the Children\'s Reading Room.
NOTE: Toddler Storytime happening at the same time on lower level. On occasion, library staffing needs may require us to combine both groups.
