UMD Maryland Robotics Center Presents Bio-inspired Robotics Demonstration

Maryland Robotics Center at the University of Maryland will offer powerpoint presentation and innovative bio-inspired robotics demonstration including Robo-Raven I, Robo-Raven V, Soft Robotic Actuators and Hand, Robo-Crab, Otter-bot, Hippo-Bot, and Dog-bot.

For ages 10 and up, middle school and high school students and their families.

This remarkable STEM program is presented and sponsored by the Maryland Robotics Center at the University of Maryland.

At age 97, his goal is for the reader to think; “If that old codger can to it, so can I.” Memoirist and writing teacher Armiger Jagoe is an international speaker and delightful local author. This event is supported by the Rockville Memorial Chapter, Friends of the Library.

Before John Glenn orbited the earth, or Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, a group of dedicated female mathematicians known as "human computers" used pencils, slide rules and adding machines to calculate the numbers that would launch rockets, and astronauts, into space. Among these problem-solvers were a group of exceptionally talented African American women, some of the brightest minds of their generation.
