The Rockville Science Center: Coder Dojo

Are you a young person 7 to 17 who is interested in learning to program? Learn to code, build a website, create an app or a game, and explore technology in an informal, creative, and social environment. The Coder Dojo DC is a local chapter of a global network of free, volunteer-led, community-based programming clubs for young people. Workshops are held every two weeks barring holidays or interruptions. ***An adult guardian must stay with children 12 and under, but all parents are strongly encouraged to stay and participate.***

Baby Storytime (ages 0-2)

A storytime experience for our youngest library users and their caregivers. These 20-30 minute storytimes introduce a diverse collection of books, songs, rhymes, and bounces developmentally appropriate for children from birth to when they start walking. This is a wonderful way to introduce your child to the joys and culture of reading in a positive and fun atmosphere. This storytime is deigned so the baby will be in their caregiver\'s lap and the grownup is actively involved in the program.

MoCo Makers promotes self-development and hands-on creation of ideas, prototypes, and physical creations. We hold regular meeting on topics ranging from introductory electronics, to machine learning, to commercializing prototypes, and more. While open to all skill levels, we have a solid core of technology experts that are pushing the boundaries of tech entrepreneurship.

All our projects are collaborations among our group members. We bring skilled engineers, serial entrepreneurs, developers, and designers into every product we produce. We are proud to help hobbyists scale up big ideas. We never assume significant prior knowledge with our topics, and all skill levels regularly attend our events.
