Description:
Black-Eyed Susan Award nominee (2016 - 2017), Kate Hannigan discusses her rollicking middle-grade novel The Detective's Assistant (Little, Brown), which was inspired by America's first woman detective and her work thwarting the Baltimore Plot to assassinate Abraham Lincoln. Kate's research led her from her home state of Illinois--where Lincoln, Detective Kate Warne, and the Pinkerton National Detective Agency got their start--to Maryland, where all the parties nearly met their end!

Join us for a lively discussion about spying, sleuthing, and staying true to facts when writing fiction. Come with questions for the author, and stay for a sweet treat! Books available for purchase and signing.
