NeoGeography: Google Maps & Google Earth (Olin & Uris)

Event Type: Workshop
Date: 3/4/2009
Start Time: 10:00 AM
End Time: 12:00 PM
Description:
This workshop provides an introduction to the "My Maps" feature of Google Maps, which can be used to create customized maps. We'll show you how to define your own points, lines, and polygons, so that you
can record the locations of features such as houses, schools, trails, neighborhoods, and fields. You'll also learn how to change the display style, using a variety of icons and colors. We'll demonstrate some other free websites that can be used to bring in data from other sources, such as a GPS unit, a list of addresses, or even a live data feed of earthquakes worldwide. We'll also show how to share your maps and data with others, and view them in 3D using Google Earth.
